This past Saturday Mr. Seashell and I went to pick out/pick up our wedding bands. Mine had been in the works for a while, as I was having a simple eternity band made out of stones that belonged to my Grandmother. Mr. Seashell, on the other hand, had some work to do.
He had previously tried on several rings and had a general idea of what he liked, but he still needed to choose "the one".
So many choices...
As he was looking, the jeweler brought out my finished band. I have been dying (dying!) do see the finished product. Here I am marveling at my engagement ring and wedding band - united for the first time!
Then I couldn't stop myself. I started taking pictures...a lot of pictures. It started to become a bit of a photoshoot.
Once I started toying with putting my bands in the jeweler's trays, I was met with this face:
Uh...yes? Sorry honey. I swear this appointment is about you. (Oops. He totally called me out.) Ok. Back to work.
With my focus reinstated, we searched and searched and searched some more. Mr. Seashell is one selective guy! We debated the merits of platinum versus white gold, and looked at brushed finishes, milligrain edges, comfort fit, and the list goes on. After thinking I had a sense of what he'd pick, he pleasantly surprised me with a stylish yet understated ring. My man has good taste.
Unfortunately, neither of our rings could be taken home that day. Mr. Seashell's needs to be made in his size and mine had a stone that needed to be replaced. Thank goodness someone was there documenting so thoroughly! OK - one more pic for the road - our wedding bands!
Did your FI's taste surprise you at all? Did you pick out your wedding bands together or separately?
